Privacy policy
Last updated 30 September 2026
This explains what imgMUTINY (the Service, run by MUTINY) collects when you use it, why, and what you can do about it. MUTINY is the data controller. For any privacy request, email [email protected].
What we collect
- Steam identity: your SteamID64 and your public Steam profile name and avatar.
- MUTINY account: whether you've played on MUTINY and your rank there, used to set your storage.
- Images: the files you upload, their title, and technical details like type, size, dimensions and fingerprints (hashes).
- Security logs: the IP address and browser used to upload, with timestamps.
- Reports: reports you send, including the reason, any note and your SteamID.
Why we use it
- To run the Service: storing your images, making links and showing your library. This is needed to give you the service you asked for, and it's our legitimate interest in running it.
- Safety and abuse prevention: logging upload IPs, fingerprinting images, rate limiting and linking uploads to accounts. This is our legitimate interest in keeping the Service safe and legal.
- Finding and handling illegal content, including content that sexualises a minor. This is to meet our legal obligations.
Automatic checks
Every upload is checked before it's published. This includes an image classifier that runs on our own servers and matching against fingerprints of known illegal images. Images are only processed for these safety checks and to serve them. We don't use your images for advertising and we don't sell them.
Who we share it with
- Hosting providers that run the Service and deliver images, including our content delivery network.
- Child safety organisations and law enforcement when the law requires it, when we find illegal content, or in answer to lawful requests.
We don't sell personal data and we don't use it for third party advertising.
How long we keep it
- Image details are kept while the image exists. When you delete an image, the file is removed.
- Security logs (upload IP address and browser) are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Records about illegal content and reports may be kept longer where the law requires it.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one essential, secure cookie to keep you signed in after you sign in with Steam. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. If you pick a file before signing in, your browser keeps it for up to 30 minutes so it can upload once you're signed in. It isn't sent anywhere until then.
Your rights
You can delete any image, all of your images, or your whole account at any time from settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Email [email protected] to use any of these. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We may need to keep some records where the law requires it, even after a request to erase them.
Children
The Service isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has used it, contact us.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
